The Fisher Building

The Fisher Building was built in the New Center area in Detroit in 1928 just finishing before the Great Depression. It is in the Art Deco style and is filled with beautiful mosaics and granite. It also contains the Fisher theater. We really enjoyed our tour with the knowledgeable tour guide and were able to go to the 26 floor to photograph Detroit from above. I took so many photos that it is hard to choose which to post so I will have a few different postings just to sample. There is so much information about this historic building that I am posting a link so that you can read it all for yourself if you are interested.

This is the shop that sells t-shirts and gifts as well as sponsoring the tours.
Tours are the same as the Guardian Building, every Saturday and Sunday 11 am and 1 pm.
 All the details were gorgeous!

Actually there are 4 of these barrel hallways which includes entrance doors.

Taken from the third floor where we were able to get a close up look at the beautiful ceiling.

This is at the main entrance and has been walked over by so many that it was starting to wear away and is now roped off.

Afterward we hit our favorite Mexican restaurant in Mexican town....yum!
Next week we will be photographing model trains and trying some new techniques.
