At the Detroit Zoo

 Had fun at the zoo today...me and all the kids! A lot of the animals were out today and I got some great photos. Did not go to the reptile house (no bad dreams for me) nor the penguin house (was there last year) but I did finally go to see the lions and tiger. Seems they are building a new place for the tigers and also enlarging the giraffe area (right now it is surrounded by wire fencing). Didn't see any  polar bears either. Beautiful flowers everywhere and a big improvement over last year. Did see a Red-spotted purple butterfly....no picture, too quick for me.

Greenfield Village

When I go to the Village I like to pretend that it is my hometown and I am taking a stroll. First I catch the steam locomotive to my favorite station and in fact, sometimes, I just ride around a few times. I love sitting on the park benches watching people go by and stopping by the gardens to see what's blooming now. I stop for lunch, then catch the Omnibus for home (actually to the exit then to my car). It's good fun for an old lady that can't do anything more adventurous.

Thinking of beautiful things......

OMG! We are having the most beautiful weather today......gorgeous, more like a sunny fall day than August. The other night, for some reason, I was looking out my dining room window into my back yard. Even though it was dark, it looked so pretty out there. My little solar lights lit the path and in the gloom I could still make out the flowers and bushes. No fireflies though.
Today is my birthday and so far I have had a great day. Got a birthday wish from my grandaughter who is on her way to Chicago to start college.  My son took me out to lunch....so far so good.
Tomorrow going to church with two friends to hear the beautiful music at St. Josephs.
