Second day in a row for snow. I'm pretty sick of this. I want to get out to take some photos of spring flowers and trees. I'm remembering the daffodils at Belle Isle that I shot a few years back. I have a few bulbs peeking through but it just seems like time is moving too slow. That's why I love the conservatory at Belle Isle....beautiful flowers and great lighting even when its cloudy. Can't wait to see the new flower gardens.

Orchids

The Orchids in the tropical room were beautiful as they are every winter. A peaceful room to enjoy them despite the weather outside.

Teapot

My grandmother, long gone now, used this teapot to water her plants. I came across it in my hutch and decided to do the same. It’s a pretty little pot, the lid broken long ago.

Our Trip to Belle Isle

Ice floats on the Detroit River. This is on the west side of the island, the east side (the shipping lane) was free of ice that we could see. Soon the Great Lake freighters will be out. A bit hazy out when I took this.

Garden in front of the conservatory.....to the right of the Carillon is the new flower garden. I can't wait to see it in bloom....hope there are tulips in the Spring.
