Shastas

After a light rain this morning I captured these photos of my Shasta Daisies. I love them but wished that they would last a little longer. In this heat they will be wilting soon.
I had such trouble with my camera lens fogging up. The camera was in the air conditioned house and bringing it into the heat and humidity caused a lot of the pictures to cloud up.

Clematis

Over the years I have planted many Clematis vines but this is the only one that has survived and thrived. It is in a very shady spot but seems to love it there. The light pink flowers seem to pop in that dark area. Silver Lace vine growing to the right which flowers later in the summer.
In the right lower corner is a garden decoration that I got at a Antique Fair years ago. It was, in its former life, a chimney pot from a factory in Pittsburgh. I love the patina on it and it covers up my electric outlet which is underneath.

Finished!

My "Greenfield Village" album is done! It came out really nice...I am very pleased with it. It's not perfect but I love it. I fit in almost 100 photos with quite a few fold outs and inserts. All pictures went in as a 4x6 without any cropping. Had so much fun with it. My Junk Journal is on going and I'm thinking of doing a folio next.

Since the Village is so huge, I couldn't possibly cover it all so I choose my favorite parts....especially all the gardens....the train, the farm and the school.

Hitsville USA

Had a great time visiting Motown....my first time. The tour was fun ...... interesting to see where it all happened.

 Famous Studio A
This was the only place where we were allowed to take pictures. Amazing to be there!
The guitar player for the Funk Brothers played this guitar
A famous singer songwriter asked permission to play the piano. It was in such bad shape he paid for the piano to be totally restored....Sir Paul McCartney

Lunch at our favorite place in Mexican Town.......whenever we are in Detroit we end up here.
......and afterwards a stop at La Gloria Bakery for yummy stuff!

Is there such a thing as too many peonies?

I say no! These are all so beautiful. Wish there had been some dark red peonies. I used to have one in my front bed. Anyway, all of these were growing around Cotswold Cottage....stunning.

Sundial

I love photographing this sundial (missing the dial part) at different times of the year. Caught a little sparrow on it the other day.
