I went to Belle Isle to find the Bald Eagle couple that I've read about on the Belle Isle Photography Group on Facebook. Someone had posted directions and I easily found their nest plus about a dozen other photographers with their long lenses.
They have been posting some beautiful photos and I'm embarrassed to post mine taken with my puny 250mm lens
The nest looks about one half done.
There was only one Eagle that morning and when I first got their it was in the nest and then flew over to a nearby tree. We were all clicking away.
When it flew off, I left but about half a mile away, I spotted him in another tree.
I felt so blessed to have seen this beautiful bird and I really enjoyed a great day on the island.
The weather was spectacular, especially for November. I spent about two hours there photographing a Great Lakes freighter, a tug, a Red Tailed Hawk and other island places of interest. I'll be posting more later. Oh, Happy day!
