Crack O' Dawn Coffee Club

It was dark, cold, very windy and raining this morning so I was surprised at the turn out for the Crack O' Dawn Coffee Club at Lake Erie Metropark. It was sheltered in the woods, the rain stopped and after all the coffee and sweets we enjoyed our walk. There is always something to see in the woods. Here is a little buddy enjoying his black walnut breakfast.

Black Walnuts

This is Jim, telling us about Agrimony and explaining how the seeds hitch a ride on animal fur and people's clothing. He explained how this bit of nature was used to invent Velcro.

Ulanawa demonstrated by getting the seeds stuck all over her jeans (not on purpose). The men in our group all tried to help with the removal ;-)

We are a hardy bunch and have a great walk every month. I enjoy the group. They are all so nice and so welcoming.
