 What a view! I could sit here all day

 This barge is massive....compare it to the little speed boat going the opposite direction. I wonder what it's carrying and where it's going. I heard there is an app for your smartphone that identifies the ships and has all the info about them....will have to look into that. I have an app that identifies a flower that you take a picture of. All this technology is amazing.

Midsummer......

....madness! These flowers all bloom midsummer and the gardens are loving it. Still the late summer and early fall flowers to look forward to. We have just had enough rain to keep things in full bloom and looking fresh.

Down on the Farm

 Disappointed that no one left the chickens out when we were there. The barn cat (who is a friend to all) was sitting by the barn door. Love Firestone Farm at the Village.

 I had a chuckle the other day.....a storm was approaching and the weather channel had a weather alert and when to expect the storm to arrive in our area. Greenfield Village was listed as if it was a real town....well, it is to me that's for sure.

 We weren't prepared for the speed at which these sheep took off. They knew that they were going to be taken down to one of the grazing pastures in the village and were waiting at the gate. When the gates were open they took off. The farmer could not keep up with them they ran so fast..... and they knew exactly where they were going. So much fun watching this adventure or just another day on the farm.

 Was not prepared with my camera setting for the speed that these sheep hit right out of the gate!

Campanula Latifolia (Giant Bellflower)

 Over 20 years ago someone that I worked with gave me these flowers. She said "Oh, these are just weeds but they have pretty flowers" All these years later they still come up with no care from me. They are wildflowers... Bellflowers. I have this really cool app on my phone called Plantsnap. You just take a picture with your cell phone of the flower that you want identified and they give you all the info. I find this app helpful when I'm at the conservatory at Belle Isle or any other public gardens.
