Emma Grace Goes to Washington

My granddaughter recently went to Washington DC with her 8th grade class. She had such a good time and gave me a complete run down, with pictures, of her trip. They saw all the national monuments, the Capital Building, Monticello (on the way there) and here you can see Emma doing her bit to hold up the Washington Monument.
I am more and more amazed at how grown up Emma is becoming. I am so proud of all her achievements so far and she is just 13!

Looking at the DIA

Advanced Camera Class at the DIA

Had a great shoot at the Detroit Institute of Arts. These photos are a look at some of the architecture and Donna shooting up and Jeff getting the best angle (he always does).

Crack O' Dawn March

 Evan

 Bernie
 Veronica and Rita

Not a very fun walk this morning. Honestly, March 2nd and it was snowing almost as hard as February. I am done with the cold and snow. While we were at breakfast our friends, Eric and Phyllis called us from Florida.......I'm sure that they didn't miss our walk. (they probably missed us though :-)
It was treacherous walking on an icy, uneven surface (frozen footprints). Three people fell and everyone was so busy watching where they stepped to pay attention to anything else. We did see the eagles as well as a Winter Wren and a White-throated Sparrow.
The walk was stressful and I think we were all happy to see the end. It's a hardy bunch and usually no one complains. April, in a month....surely it will be better.
