Welcome

I came across this area, actually outside of the museum proper. It looks like a foyer or waiting room, probably used when the museum opened. Such a lovely room that I finally sat down and just enjoyed the beautiful classic early American design. I loved the shade of blue that most of the woodwork was painted.....lovely.

I can see "here comes the bride" down this beautiful staircase.

Door to the museum
I don't know much about glass, but this chandelier looks like Murano to me.

 This stair rail is beautiful!!!

Winter is Finally Here

These are some more of the pictures that I took on that foggy morning a few weekends ago at Elizabeth Park. Still have lots of pictures yet to post.
It is really cold today, with the wind chill it feels like 18 degrees. A little snow on the ground so it's beginning to look a lot like Christmas :-)  Suppose to warm up though with no chance of a white Christmas.

Visiting Santa

This is the beautifully decorated hallway leading to Santa at The Henry Ford.....all in a blue theme. The red of Santa's suit really pops against this backdrop. I didn't, however, take any pictures of Santa although one of his "helpers" asked if I wanted my picture taken with the old man  ;-)
My grandson, who is now 19, saw Santa at the museum when he was about 4 or 5. My granddaughter was just a toddler. Santa, at that time, was in a railway car. The inside was decorated and Santa was taking lists and checking them twice. Well, my grandson absolutely loved seeing Santa on the train. I'm sure it is a memory for him....even if her wouldn't admit it now.
