In The Mix

Brookgreen Gardens is a sculpture garden and this is a new installation that was done this winter.
(more info below). It was interesting....made entirely of natural materials, one is able to walk into and around the structures.

Birds are already finding a ready home among the twigs, like this Carolina Wren that was singing so beautifully when I was there.

Bait and Tackle

I love this building! The colors really pop. It is conveniently  located across the road from Twisters where we, on rare occasions, stop to get ice cream.
I took this photo at dusk, using 1600 ISO.

The Causeway

Well, I've only been in South Carolina 2 days and it has been raining most of the time. When I walked out of the terminal the temperature was about the same as it was in Detroit.....cold.  Monday it rained all day and I was force to  go to the library. I read one whole book and watched episodes of Star Trek Voyager....all of this I could have done at home. But it was great seeing everyone. My daughter and I went to dinner and a drive by the ocean Sunday evening. Today it was cold and windy but I did venture out to the state park, This is near the entrance of the park. I'm saving the best of the azaleas for Brookgreen.

Green Heron
You can feel the cold damp air in these photos....that were taken from the causeway at the state park.

I Demand to Know....

where is Spring? Really? Snow predicted again tonight! I'm getting out of town ASAP.
This Beautiful exotic flower was taken at the Belle Isle Conservatory a few weeks ago and is just a reminder of a lost spring. The sun shines brightly but we can't seem to get out of the 30s.....ugh! My Chore Guys are going to start spring clean-up next week and I hope that the weather will cooperate. I will be thinking about them from warmer climes.
