I had the best time watching Liam play basketball. He really hustles and seems to enjoy the game.

After over 2 years of taking photography classes, I still haven't mastered taking action pictures when the lighting is poor of so so. Outside I do a little better but these facilities are  more difficult to work with. The pics looked good on the camera but once I got them on the computer screen I was disappointed. I should be better than this :-(

This morning in the Sunday comics, shows my favorite guy, Crankshaft, getting his mail. He is out shoveling while the snow continues to come down. He finds a seed catalog among the mail and looking at it he envisions his yard...the grass is green, the flowers are in bloom and the sun is shining. Instead of shoveling he is planting. I loved this and immediately got out some of my catalogs to browse. Surely spring can't be that far away?
I was really looking forward to today as I had plan to go shopping at Costco and Ikea. It's over a 30 minute drive for me so I don't often go. Instead, I woke to heavy snow and was lucky to make it to Meijers. I was so disappointed and just feed up with this weather. Again I ask.....spring can't be far away?

Painted Bunting

I was so happy to see this Painted Bunting again last spring in Murrell's Inlet, SC. Wish that I could get a picture of one not in a caged feeder......oh well, I was thrilled to see it on my very last day there.

Winter is Lovely

 Winter is lovely but.......please give us a break. Seems that there is no end in sight. We are having problems as to where to put the shoveled snow. Two more inches expected Saturday night...we got 8 inches Wednesday. I know that in states further north and even northern Michigan, this is nothing. They deal with a lot more snow every winter and most choose to live there. I like snow around the holidays but by February we are all sick of it. I should start going to South Carolina in February but can't resist going when all the beautiful azaleas and spring trees are in bloom. Will dig out some pictures from last year and post....to cheer us all up. Will also try to get down to Lake Erie Metropark this week. I wonder if there are any birds out there. I could try Oakwoods....they have feeding stations. Will wait until we get out of the teens.
