Crack O' Dawn March

Note spots on lens..this was snow.

The deer at Lake Erie become more friendly the hungrier they get. Theywere following us this morning and waylaid us at the end of the naturetrail. It was a cold and windy walk as March has come in like a lion with winds gusting at 40 mph. We were all bundled against the cold. It was a ray of sunshine (not in our morning sky) to think that next month when we meet it will be a spring morning and hopefully much warmer.

Since the wind had been blowing in in from the west all night, the water was pushed out and was at a low level around Cherry Island. Gerry, our fearless leader, took this opportunity to do a little exploring in an area that is normally underwater. He found a mustard jar form the 50s, a soft drink bottle bottom from the 40s and a pink mussel (pictured above)

We had an invigorating walk and then had breakfast after....by the time I got home it was time for a nap. :-)

  1. Lovely pics of today's walk!! A bunch of us ventured over to Oakwoods after and Veronica got them to get the turtles out for me to handle. :)
