Barn #12 on Clinton Road

This is the last barn in the series from our barn shoot last month. This farm was at one time a big dairy operation The barn is a grouping of three gambrel roofed barns shaped in a U. The barn is in Washtenaw County and the farm house  (a Greek Revival style) is in Lenawee County.
The property was so overgrown that I couldn't get a shot of the whole barn unless I went out onto the road. The owner was nice enough to let us shoot there after we reassured him that we were not Jehovah Witnesses.(this is true)  Everything was unkempt and we were not able to go into the barn, however there was plenty to shoot. I often wonder when these old farmers retire why they don't try to sell the farm or get someone in to run it for them. It seems such a waste but maybe the upkeep is too much to consider. Sad to see this huge barn and property just sit and rot.
