Teenage Red-Bellied

This Red-Bellied Woodpecker reminded me of a punked-out teenager with his red hair all spiked up. Don't know if he is an adolescent or a male but he is wonderful, none-the-less

Crosswinds Marsh

Had a lovely early morning walk at Crosswinds Marsh this am. It was overcast but that kept it from being too hot, I think. I didn't have a very good camera day...forgot my strap for my SLR so I used my point and shoot and many photos were not clear. I saw a lot of birds, however....a pair of Flickers, a Yellow Warbler, and I think a Common Yellow Throat plus Song Sparrows. Was looking for a Swamp Wren that a friend saw (and got a picture of) out there but no luck. Just enjoyed a stroll and a sit, waiting for the birds to come to me. Loved spending time with the bees...they loved those wild roses!

Front Porch Antics by Emma and Liam

It amazes me what kids think of to amuse themselves. When I go out to my front porch I sit and read and take a nap. Look what these two got up to.....cute!

Missing My Dad

The Barn Story Continues........

This is barn #3 on the historic barn tour. It is an L shaped barn with the front building having a gambrel or "hipped" roof. It was a working farm and neat as a pin.

This is an interesting photo with some weird effects that I found on my edit program. Ulanawa went and knocked on the door to ask permission to be on their property but no one answered so we proceeded to walk around and snap photos. I was laying on the ground shooting the side of the barn when I heard a noise from one of the out buildings....like a vacuum sound. Someone was working back there and I was laying on their grass! We got out of there before anyone came out. I'm sure that when these property owners agreed to be on the tour, they are used to such intrusions but still.

A place to rest

I never met a park bench that I didn't like.
