Winter Wonderland
My house
I love the way the snow distorts shapes and sizes of ordinary objects, turning them into works of art.
Keeping warm in a bird house hanging on my neighbor's tree.
Waiting for spring and the return of my little House Wren

A Winter Adventure
The Parade Company
We had quite the winter adventure getting to Detroit this morning. It was snowing heavily, visibility was poor and Mt. Elliot was closed with a very strange detour. We finally arrived to find that many of the floats that were in this Thanksgiving Day parade were parked outside and were covered in snow.
I haven't had time to edit my photos but thought that I would post these showing the inside of the warehouse so you can get an idea of how huge it is. I overheard one of the guides saying that they rent the building for $1 a year. Floats and other parade attractions are stored here as well as repaired.

This is the scene that greeted us as we walked outside (note floats in the background). It was a treacherous drive home but we managed to make a stop at Mexican town for lunch and got home safe and sound......although with frazzled nerves.
OMG! ....are we silly!

Christmas Party
We had a little get together for the holidays last evening at The Grind in Wyandotte. It was great seeing everyone. Only one person brought a camera and that's saying something for a group of photographers. Can't wait to get out Saturday with my camera at the Parade Company. It's suppose to snow that morning and about 3-5 inches is predicted. At least it's not far...hoping we have lunch at Mexican Village at our favorite place.
Thanks to Lisa for arranging the party (first in front). Then there is Doug kneeling (with his money shot). Behind Lisa is Karen R., Terry, Peggy, Barb, Donna, Bryan, Chris and me.
Note: photographs hanging in the background were done by some of our group members.

Burrrrrrr
It is too cold here in Michigan. High of 21F today. Tomorrow night's low is 8 degrees and also some snow although, thankfully, we have really escaped all the bad weather that is happening in other parts of the country. Really wish I could get out with my camera. Took the above photo last January at Crosswinds Marsh.
I have a party tomorrow night and then a photo shoot on Sat...luckily it is inside.
