Let's Talk Weather

For all my blog followers who are not familiar with where I live... see my state below. Here in southeastern Michigan we celebrate all 4 seasons..taking the word celebrate with a grain of salt. In mid-August the average temperatures run between the mid 80's to mid 90s (F) and it is often humid. For the last 3 weeks we have had a high parked over us and we have had weather that is well below the average temperature even getting into the low 50s at night. It is sunny and absolutely beautiful and feels more like mid-October than August.
Of course, not everyone is happy. For one thing it is too chilly to swim or do other water sports. But it is beautiful for working in the garden or walking on the trails. My lawn and flowers are beautiful.
The cicadas are making their usual summer racket high in the trees and in every other way it is August. I'm sure this is not the end of summer for us as 80 degree temperatures are predicted for the weekend but for now I am loving it!

                              We look like a mitten.

I live in a small micro climate near Lake Erie and we are warmer than the surrounding areas...earlier Spring planting.

We get less snow fall as other Great Lake States. Because of where we are situated between the lakes, the snow often goes above us or below our area here in the metro Detroit area.
