Off and on for months now this post "Arboretum Statuary" has been one of my most visited posts. The original was posted on September 2, 2012 so it surprises me that it has maintained it's interest. It may be because the statue pictured below caused some controversy.
The statuary garden is at the Overland Park Arboretum in Overland Park, Kansas.
If you have the opportunity to visit, the Monet Garden is absolutely wonderful....especially in June.
Check out the original post at this link http://carol-carolsdaily.blogspot.com/2012/09/arboretum-statuary.html. It contains the story about this particular piece and also photos of other art work. Unlike Brookgreen Gardens where the statuary is placed in scenic vistas, at the arboretum they are mostly along the walking path. Both gardens are my favorite places.
