Winter Birding

I was surprised at how many birds that I saw when I was in South Carolina. My little Chickadee was a frequent sighting as well as this Goldfinch. This area where feeders are hung is a good place to see birds but with the building of the new nature center all that pounding was keeping them away. I did see Cedar Waxwings, Bluebirds, Titmice and many shore birds.

Several years ago the nature center burned to the ground...I believe it was struck by lightning. It took awhile to finally start the rebuild and it looks bigger and higher off of the ground. I always thought it would be great to look out over the marsh.....we shall see.
I am no good at identifying Warblers. An old seasoned birder next to me said this is a Pine Warbler which we don't see in Michigan. I hope so because it will be a life bird for me.
