The King was perched up on a ledge along with the female. Something prompted him to come down, stand in front of the glass and roar....then the female started to roar as well. After this display he climbed up on a log and fell asleep. I love when the animals are active like this, unlike the Tiger who was asleep in the exact same spot that he was as last year when I was at the zoo.
Pictures were taken through a glass surround with the morning sun causing a glare so that pictures were not clear. It's a shame because the lions were right in front of me. I will say that I jumped back when he started roaring...lol.
