Lotus Flowers at Lake Erie

Instead of walking the Cherry Island Trail (because of heat and humidity) I drove to the lakeside picnic area and was surprised at all the Lotus. Unfortunately, I was no close to the flowers themselves...I either need a longer lens or waders. Beautiful display as far as the eye can see.

It's hard to make out but that is the lake in the background.

 I often think that the Lotus seed pods are prettier than the flowers themselves. In this photo it looks like the sun is shining from underneath the leaves.
