Kolache

Here is another post that keeps popping up on my top 10 favorites. I originally posted my family story about this wonderful pastry back in February 2013, almost 2 years ago. I am surprised that the interest continues. Click on the link below to read about this tradition and see a photo of my Mother's baking implements and my Pyrex bowl collection.                              (stock photo)

The most beautiful view is the view I see with you

Bridges of Elizabeth Park

There have been so many beautiful photos of the famous bridges of Elizabeth Park that I was reluctant take and post my own. Not only do I think that they can't compete but also it just seems redundant. But....it was such a gorgeous day on Tuesday, I decided to give it a shot (no pun intended).
There are three bridges in the park...the first is the concrete entrance bridge and the other two are identical just in different areas. These two bridges were recently replaced but I think that the original iron work was used again. Wedding, graduation pictures, scenic at sunrise and sunset, in summer, fall and in snow, from every conceivable angle, photographed, edited and recycled...it's all been done.
So forgive my feeble attempt as I had lots of fun doing them and still enjoy sharing.

A Change in the Weather

What a beautiful, warm and sunny day today....64 degrees right now. I had a lovely walk in Elizabeth Park in Trenton this morning....but, a change is coming. By tomorrow the highs will be in the 30s. Ugh! I thought that I better take advantage of the gorgeous day while it lasts. Lots of photos to come of lovely Elizabeth Park.

Most Popular Post

Off and on for months now this post "Arboretum Statuary" has been one of my most visited posts. The original was posted on September 2, 2012 so it surprises me that it has maintained it's interest. It may be because the statue pictured below caused some controversy.
The statuary garden is at the Overland Park Arboretum in Overland Park, Kansas.
If you have the opportunity to visit, the Monet Garden  is absolutely wonderful....especially in June.
Check out the original post at this link    http://carol-carolsdaily.blogspot.com/2012/09/arboretum-statuary.html. It contains the story about this particular piece and also photos of other art work. Unlike Brookgreen Gardens where the statuary is placed in scenic vistas, at the arboretum they are mostly along the walking path. Both gardens are my favorite places.

Black and White Challenge on Facebook

These are the 5 photos that I posted for the challenge. Only one of the photographers that I nominated followed through. Jo Ann posted and nominated for 5 days.
Here are my masterpieces.

The photos below didn't make the cut,...had a difficult time deciding...anyway, whoever thought up this challenge thank you. I really enjoyed it!
