Huron Clinton Metroparks....what a pity

We were all very upset to see a sign posted on the door of the Lake Erie Metropark's Nature Center saying that the Nature Center itself will be closed Monday through Friday. I don't know what is going to happen to the programs that are usually run in the building. This is the best nature center
 of all in the metropark system. It is so well done and is educational and informative. I don't think that the higher ups from the Kensington office give a rats a.. about us here in the downriver and Monroe area. The park is always busy and our Crack O' Dawn group (which meets in the nature center building) draws anywhere from 10 to 24 every month, averaging about 18. This group has been going since 1994 and the members are huge supporters of the park. It is a huge disservice to all that use the park not to have an interpreter on site. It is unfair to the employees as well.
You take one quarter mill from our property taxes and we all think that you need to think of other alternatives to saving money. Please respect those of us who love nature and love Lake Erie Metropark,
